What is PVC?

The technical name for PVC  is “polyvinyl chloride” and this product is most commonly used in the building and chemical industries. However, by adding another product called a “placticizer”, PVC can be made softer and more flexible and becomes ideal for clothes and upholstery.

When used to make clothes, PVC has a leather look effect and as it is cheaper than leather often becomes a more popular option to both leather and latex.

PVC Clothes feature in “punk”, “goth” and “alternative” fashion collections as well as fetish but is more commonly being seen in everyday wear, put together with jeans and standard t-shirts to create a “funky” image.

PVC is waterproof and has a shiny finish as can be seen on the examples below:
